Lawyer Ikeni Mbako-Allison suspended after being found guilty of harassing woman in UK
A lawyer based in the UK, Ikeni Mbako-Allison, bagged a nine-month suspension after being found guilty of harassing a woman.
The Bar Standards Board of England and Wales, the regulatory body for lawyers in England and Wales, suspended Mr Mbako-Allison on July 25, 2024.
“Ikeni Mbako-Allison, a barrister, behaved in a way which is likely to diminish the trust and confidence which the public would place in him or in the profession in that, between 3 – 18 March 2021, he pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Person A and which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her in that he sent multiple emails to Person A to an extent which was unreasonable,” the BSB stated.
Mr Mbako-Allison was called to the Bar in 2009.
The regulatory body said Mr Mbako-Allison’s suspension was “as a result of this conduct, on 10 February 2022 Mr Mbako-Allison was convicted of harassment contrary to section 2(1) and (2) of the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.”
A five-man disciplinary panel suspended Mr Mbako-Allison from practice for nine months, with the sentence effective from 16 August 2024 and ordered him to pay a £1,200.00 fine.
