Troops rescue captives after bandits attack in Zamfara

Troops of Fansan Yamma have rescued two captives following a terrorist attack along the Anka–Gadan Manya road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The Nigerian Army disclosed in a statement on Monday that the incident occurred on Sunday.
“The troops, while conducting routine patrol, observed armed bandits attacking two individuals travelling on a motorcycle.
“Troops immediately mobilised and rushed to the location. On arrival at the scene, the attackers fled into the surrounding terrain and abandoned their captives,” it said.
The army said security forces have intensified operations, conducting aggressive patrols to deny criminal elements freedom of movement and ensure the continued safety of residents.
