“The victim was rushed to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), Bauchi, where he was certified dead by a medical doctor at about 1100hrs of the same day,” he said.

Mr Habib noted that since the incident, the command sustained unrelenting efforts and placed the fleeing suspects on its watchlist.

The police added that the suspects had previously been linked to a politically motivated murder in the same area before disappearing.

“Acting on credible intelligence from a Good Samaritan, operatives attached to ‘A’ Division, Township, swung into action and on 5th October, 2026, exactly three months after the heinous crime, successfully arrested the principal suspect, Abdulrazak Sale Kundang,” he said.
