The United States has sent its condolences to families, friends and colleagues of those who lost their lives in a helicopter crash in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the U.S. Mission Nigeria said it stood with Nigeria and would remain steadfast in its security partnership.
“The U.S. Mission in Nigeria sends our deepest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of those lost in yesterday’s Nigerian Air Force crash,” the post read.
It said it stood with the people of Nigeria and remained committed to its strong security partnership.
On Monday, a helicopter crashed during a routine mission from Benin to Lagos.
Peoples Gazette had earlier reported that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had said no one survived from the army helicopter that claimed lives on Monday.
President Bola Tinubu had mourned the death of officers and passengers aboard a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 jet near a naval base.
Mr Tinubu extended his deepest condolences to the families of the 25 passengers and seven crew members involved in the crash.
