Shooting Stars mourn Crown FC driver killed in road accident

Nigeria Premier Football League side Shooting Stars S.C. has extended their condolences to Nigeria National League club Crown FC following the death of the club’s driver, Yinusa Olalomi, after the team was involved in an accident on Thursday.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the management, players, staff, and supporters of Crown FC Ogbomoso following the tragic accident involving the club and the unfortunate loss of its driver, Yinusa Amole Olalomi,” Shooting Stars said.
According to reports, the players and officials of Crown FC were travelling to Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, ahead of the kickoff of the AFH Tourney preseason tournament when the incident occurred along the Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, injuring several occupants of the bus.
The injured players and staff, including the driver, were reportedly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
However, Crown FC announced on Friday that the 54-year-old driver had died. The circumstances surrounding the accident remain unclear.
“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that the management of Crown FC of Ogbomoso announces the death of our team driver, Yinusa Popoola Amole, aged 54, who lost his life following the road accident involving the club’s travelling party on its way to Ijebu-Ode for the AFH Pre-Season Tournament in Sagamu, Ogun State.
“The driver, who sustained serious injuries in the unfortunate incident, was later pronounced dead by a medical doctor in Ogbomoso last night. His death is a devastating loss to the club, and we are deeply saddened by the tragic development,” the club said.
Shooting Stars further condoled the family of Mr Olalomi, stating, “We are deeply saddened by this painful loss and share in the grief of the Crown FC family during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragedy.”
