Lagos E-Commerce Crackdown: Sanwo-Olu targets deceptive online vendors, online fraud

The Lagos government has announced an initiative to protect customers from vendors delivering items that differ from what they ordered, whether online or offline.
The government, in a statement on Monday, urged customers who fall victim to such unfair business practices to lodge their complaints with the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency.
In a statement titled, ‘ORDERED ONLINE? KNOW YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS!’, the Lagos government stated, “Goods or products you order online should be delivered as promised. If the items delivered do not match their descriptions, are different from what you ordered, or fail to meet the expected quality, do not keep silent! Speak up and take action.
“Register your complaint with the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) against unfair business practices.”
Customers were urged to call the free helpline, 080 0005 2726, or email lasgcopa@gmail.com to lodge their complaints.
