Ronaldo nets 15-minute hat-trick, closes in on 1,000 career goals

Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored a 15-minute hat-trick in the second half on Thursday to help Al-Nassr defeat Al-Kholood 5-3 in the Saudi Pro League.
The score was 2-2 before the five-time Ballon d’Or winner found the net in the 66th, 72nd and 81st minutes for the league leaders.
The hat-trick has taken his career goal tally to 985, bringing him closer to the milestone of 1,000 career goals.
Portugal team-mate Joao Felix contributed four assists in the match, two of which set up Ronaldo’s goals.
After the match, Ronaldo took to social media to celebrate his goals, saying, “Great win, great team performance. Happy to help with a hat-trick!”
Al-Nassr are second on the table, with a game in hand, behind league leaders Al-Qadsiah.
Ronaldo is currently 49 goals ahead of second-placed Lionel Messi, who has 936 career goals.
The 41-year-old has scored seven hat-tricks for Al-Nassr, 44 for Real Madrid, 10 for Portugal and three each for Manchester United and Juventus.
