The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC)  uncovered banned alcoholic beverages and suspected fake food products during an enforcement operation at Oke-Arin Market in Lagos State.

NAFDACsaid in a video on its X page that investigation and enforcement officers discovered sachet and PET-bottled alcoholic drinks below 200ml—which are prohibited—concealed in some shops within the market.

The operation also led to the discovery of unregistered food and drink products, as well as alcoholic beverages suspected to be counterfeit.

NAFDAC officials therefore evacuated the products from the market as part of efforts to prevent their circulation and protect consumers from potentially unsafe goods.

The agency said the operation underscores its continued enforcement activities against the sale and distribution of prohibited, unregistered and suspected fake products across the country.
