Gridlock on Apapa road as container falls off truck

A container fell off a truck and landed on its side at the roundabout near Fidelity Bank on Burma Road, Apapa, Lagos, causing a gridlock.
The incident occurred at about 8:10 a.m., when the truck was turning at the roundabout, according to a statement by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Friday.
A backlog of vehicles stretched towards Mr Bigg’s, disrupting traffic movement along the busy road.
Traffic officers were at the scene managing the situation and directing motorists to ease the congestion.
Efforts are also underway to recover the truck and evacuate the container from the road, according to LASTMA.
