Hisbah condemns ‘Colour Fest Party’ in Kano, threatens arrest

The Kano State Hisbah Board has warned residents against participating in ‘Colour Fest Party,’ alleging it promotes immorality.
The deputy commander of the board, Mujahideen Aminuddeen, who issued the warning on Thursday, said that participants usually gathered around Dangi Flyover to Zoo Road.
According to him, they received complaints that the participants used to organise the event on Sunday evening.
He warned that the board would arrest anyone found participating in the event because it was seen as undermining moral values.
Mr Aminuddeen revealed that mingling of men and women in dancing, drinking, and committing other immoral acts was against religious teachings.
He stressed that anyone arrested would be charged in court.
“The board will not tolerate activities capable of damaging the moral upbringing of young people in the state,” he warned.
He urged residents to stay away from such gatherings and respect Kano’s religious and cultural values.
