Nigerian pastor who took delivery of N200 million SUV asks church members to donate money for fuel
A Port Harcourt-based cleric, Mark Miracle, has generated mixed reactions on Facebook after publicly displaying his account number and asking people to donate money for fuel following the arrival of his new SUV, reportedly worth N200 million.
Mr Miracle announced the arrival of his SUV in a Facebook post, describing it as a special gift and congratulating himself and his family on the new purchase.
He further appealed to the first five people willing to sow a fuel seed to serve as a point of contact with the vehicle, promising that God would reward such persons.
“To the first 5 persons that will send a fuel seed as a point of contact to this car gift, My God that has never failed me will give you a gift you never begged for or lobbied for in Jesus name!” he wrote.
The cleric also shared several photographs of the vehicle, including different views of its exterior and interior, alongside pictures of himself and his children.
The announcement has, however, attracted criticism from some Facebook users, who questioned why the pastor would solicit money for fuel after acquiring an expensive vehicle.
Reacting to the post, Samuel Avong wrote, “The Lord can gift SUV but cannot fuel it abi?”
Similarly, Ekene James questioned the pastor’s request, saying, “You are still looking for fuel money, why are you people so greedy like this.”
“Politicians will come use us and dumb native doctors will do same pastors too will come and do the same we are finished,” Patrick Obika wrote.
Some Facebook users also criticised those who had contributed to the cleric’s request, including a woman who reportedly sent ₦1,500 as a seed. Responding to her, a Facebook user, Nelson Joel, noted that there were people in her neighbourhood whom her ₦1,500 could provide great relief for, adding that she would be greatly blessed for helping them.
Although the post attracted criticism, it also received congratulatory messages, with some users celebrating the cleric’s new SUV and praying for similar blessings.
“Congratulations sir… Abeg make person sow for my life too oh… God bless us all,” Emmanuel Omeili wrote.
