The Ghana Health Service has announced that all travellers arriving in the country must complete a health declaration form starting from November 12, 2026.

The Ghana Health Service made the announcement in a statement issued on Saturday and signed by its Director-General, Samuel Akoriyea.

The new rule, which takes effect on Thursday, applies to every passenger travelling to Ghana. It is designed to strengthen public health surveillance and improve the country’s preparedness for health threats.

According to the statement, all travellers must fill out and submit the online health declaration form before travelling to Ghana.

“All travellers are therefore strongly advised to ensure that they complete and submit the required Health Declaration Form prior to departure,” the statement said.

The form can be accessed through the Ghana Health Service’s electronic health declaration portal at https://ehds.ghs.gov.gh/declaration.

The service said the measure would help improve the tracking of public health risks. It would also help keep both residents and visitors safe and healthy.

The Ghana Health Service urged airlines, travel agencies and other partners to inform passengers about the new rule. It also asked them to ensure that travellers complete the form before departure.

The service also urged all passengers to comply with the rule, saying compliance would help make travel smoother and support the country’s efforts to protect public health.
