FLASH: Nigeria’s D’Tigress win AfroBasket Championship

Nigeria’s D’Tigress went for a historic three peat, winning the FIBA Afrobasket for the third time in a row on Sunday.
Nigeria went into the final with Mali looking to make history and coach Otis Hughley went with the same starting lineup of Adaora Elonu, Odera Chidom, Ezinne Kalu, Victoria Macaulay and Ify Ibekwe
D’Tigress were always in control of the game and lead by at least 10 points for most of it, cruising, in the end, to a comfortable 70-59 victory to retain their title for the second time in a row.
After the disappointment of the Olympics, it was good for the team to get their confidence back, continue building chemistry and prepare for global competitions.
