Shekarau, Jibrin urge APC to resolve crisis in Kano

All Progressives Congress (APC) politicians from Kano on Wednesday petitioned the national leadership to resolve the crisis rocking the party in the state.
The members in a petition to the National Chairman, Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, rejected the ward and local government congresses conducted in the state.
Jointly signed by Senators Ibrahim Shekarau, Barau Jibrin and some House of Representatives members, said the congress was held without members’ consent and violated “all known civilised norms, rules and party regulations.”
While rejecting “in totality” the congress, the members said they’ll “resist any attempt by the state party leadership to carry out state congress in the same exclusive and Kangaroo manner aimed at imposing party officers on the members.”
They urged the national leadership to “urgently take decisive steps to end the destructive tendencies manifestly exhibited in the management of the party crisis.
“We want to assure the National Leadership of our support, cooperation and commitment to peaceful resolution of the crisis,” the group said.
