Four airport thugs sent to Kirikiri for soliciting passengers

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday sentenced a woman and three men to three months each in Kirikiri Correctional Centre for soliciting airport passengers.
The police charged Nneka Okorie, 35, Tunde Abiodun, 32, Anthony Joshia, 29 and Tunde Ademiloye, 29, with unlawful entry and touting.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fajana, gave them an option of fine, ordering that the convicts should serve out their term or pay N60,000 each as fine.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Oluwabunmi Adeitan, alleged the convicts engaged themselves in touting by soliciting for passengers’ assistance and rendering unsolicited help to departing and arriving passengers.
Mr Adeitan alleged they unlawfully gained access into Murtala International Airport without any reasonable cause or permission from the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
She said the offence contravened sections 3(e) and 6 (1)(2) of FAAN Bye Laws 2005.
