Makinde chairs PDP Ward Congress Electoral Committee for Anambra

The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has appointed Governor Seyi Makinde as the Chairman of the party’s Electoral Committee for Anambra Ward Congresses.
In a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Umar Bature, in Abuja on Friday, the party said the committee was to elect new Ward Executive Committees and three-man ad-hoc Ward Delegates to the State Congress.
Others approved to serve in the committee alongside the Oyo state governor are Mohammed Ashiru as Secretary, while Ms Mildred Ekhator and Senators Abdul Ningi and Atai Idoko are to serve as members.
The exercise is scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 19, in all the 326 Wards of the state.
“In the same vein, the NWC has approved the appointment of 63 Electoral Officers whose sole responsibility shall be to conduct the Ward Congresses in their assigned Local Government Areas.
“This is to ensure transparency and strict compliance with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of Ward Congresses,” the statement said.
