I will not attend Biden’s inauguration: Trump

American President Donald Trump has said he would not be attending the inauguration of his successor Joe Biden.
Mr. Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States on January 20.
“To all of those who have asked, Mr. Trump said, “I will not be going to the Inauguration on January 20th,” Mr. Trump said on Friday in a tweet.
Supporters of Mr. Trump had besieged Capitol Hill on Wednesday in a bid to truncate the certification of Mr. Biden’s victory. Congress building was breached, forcing a momentary halt to the debates before the lawmakers later reconvened on Thursday to affirm Mr. Biden as President-elect.
Mr. Trump, grudging conceded defeat after Wednesday’s drew global condemnation and assured that there would be orderly power transition.
His announcement of non-attendance of Mr. Biden’s inauguration would not come to many as suprise.
By this decision, Mr. Trump will join the league of three past presidents of the United States who have refused to attend their successor.
John Adams, who served as the second President of the United States (1797-1801) did not attend his successor Thomas Jefferson’s inauguration.
John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States – 1825 to 1829, did not attend his successor Andrew Jackson’s inauguration.
Also, Andrew Johnson, the 17th president of the United States who served between 1865 to 1869, did not attend his successor Ulysses S. Grant’s inauguration.
