2023: Bauchi community leader urges politicians to preach love
Nuhu Tafida, the village head of Bogoro, Bauchi State, has urged politicians to preach love, peaceful co-existence and eschew bigotry, and ethnic rivalry during political campaigns.
“All politicians should work towards building a prosperous, safe and secure state where people will continue to rise and claim the faith of their greatness.
“Let us show that politics can be more enabling than how certain people may make it appear,” he said.
Mr Tafida spoke when the lawmaker representing the Bogoro constituency at the Bauchi state House of Assembly, Musa Nakwada, visited him on Sunday in Bauchi.
The village head stressed the need for politicians to always show love to one another, urging them to close rank and work together to elevate the state to enviable heights further.
“It is apparent lack of love is what has bred religious intolerance, which in turn has led to violence and insurgency,” he said.
Mr Tafida said leaders should lead with the fear of God to make them do the right things for the citizens’ benefit.
He further urged citizens to be supportive of the activities of the government towards the growth and development of the state.
The community leader commended Governor Bala Mohammed for providing his communities with the dividend of democracy and the appointment of their sons and daughters in his cabinet.
