The police command in Oyo says Adetutu Aderibigbe, a resident of Ibadan, who was abducted on Wednesday, April 10, has regained her freedom.

The command’s spokesperson, Ayanlade Olayinka, confirmed the development to the Peoples Gazette on Saturday.

Responding to a follow-up inquiry, Mr Olayinka stated that the victim regained her freedom on Friday, April 17.

According to the police spokesman, Ms Aderibigbe has been released, interrogated and has supplied useful insights into the incident.

“The said person has been released, debriefed, and she has provided necessary insight into the operation of her abductor. Hence, the investigation continues,” Mr Olayinka stated.

The command had announced on April 10 that four suspected gunmen abducted Ms Aderibigbe at Bolumole Area off Ring Road in Ibadan.

At the time, the command stated that the victim was trailed by four masked gunmen, waylaid at the gate to her residence and whisked away at gunpoint in an unregistered black Lexus vehicle.
