Abuja rulers’ wives praise Tinubu for appointing FCT native as mandate secretary

The Association of Wives of FCT Traditional Rulers has lauded President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of an FCT native, Bitrus Garki, as the mandate secretary for the FCT Area Council Services Secretariat.
The association said this in a statement signed by Halima Mohammed, secretary of the association and Sa’rauniyan of Karshi chiefdom, on Tuesday.
She said the appointment affirmed the government’s commitment to promoting an inclusive society.
“The fact that an indigenous person has been awarded this crucial position of leadership is a sign of progress. Mr Bitrus Lawrence will be a strong advocate for our people and the conservation of our land and resources, and his appointment is considered a positive step for FCT indigenes,” said the statement. “Indeed, it demonstrates the government’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive society.”
It added, “We also wish to call on the FCT minister to ensure that more indigenes are appointed to key positions in the FCT Administration.”
Mr Tinubu approved the appointment of mandate secretaries for the FCT on September 5.
Other newly appointed secretaries are Lawan Geidam (Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat), Danlami Ihayyo (Education), Adedolapo Fasawe (Health and Human Services Secretariat), Salman Dako (Legal Services Secretariat), Chinedum Elechi (Economic Planning, Revenue Generation and PPP), Uboku Tom Nyah (Transportation Secretariat), and Muntari Abdulkadir (Social Development Secretariat).
