The Association of Corporate Communication and Marketing Professionals in Banks (ACAMB) organised a golf and networking experience as part of activities commemorating its 30th anniversary.

The association said in a statement on Friday that the event attracted senior bank executives, industry leaders, media partners and clients.

It said the networking event, held at Ikoyi Club 1938, was designed to promote unity, strengthen professional relationships and encourage partnerships.

According to the statement, the event also celebrated three decades of advancing corporate communications and marketing excellence in Nigeria’s banking industry.

Speaking at the event, ACAMB president Jide Sipe reaffirmed the association’s commitment to promoting the reputation and growth of the banking sector.

Mr Sipe said corporate communications and marketing professionals had played significant roles in transforming the financial sector into one driven by transparency, speed and digital engagement.

He said the professionals had evolved from gatekeepers to strategic drivers of business growth, brand reputation, customer satisfaction and loyalty.

According to him, they also contribute to regulatory compliance, information dissemination, reputation management and public understanding of complex monetary policies.

Mr Sipe also commended the club for promoting community development, family bonding and excellence in sports. He said the club’s values aligned with ACAMB’s commitment to social and professional growth.

The deputy chairman of Ikoyi Club 1938, Martins Bolaji, congratulated ACAMB ahead of its anniversary celebration in September.

Mr Bolaji thanked the association for choosing the club to host the networking event.

He said the club remained committed to partnering with professional associations to promote inclusiveness, strengthen collaboration and support growth across sectors.

According to him, the initiative forms part of the club’s efforts to remain progressive, modern and responsive to established corporate organisations and younger professionals.

“As a former banker, I understand ACAMB’s role and the impact it has made over the past three decades. The banking sector has recorded remarkable progress, and ACAMB deserves recognition for its contributions to that achievement,” Mr Bolaji said.

He added that the club would offer discounted membership to ACAMB members and other interested professionals in appreciation of the association’s contributions to the banking industry.
