Accord Party, Adeleke’s supporters circulating AI-generated governorship results: APC

The All Progressives Congress in Osun has alleged that members and supporters of the Accord Party are circulating unverified AI-generated election results.
A statement on Saturday by an APC spokesman, Kola Olabisi, said, “INEC is the only corporate body constitutionally empowered to conduct and duly declare the results of the election, which translates to the fact that election results from other sources from the national election umpire could be described as an illegality.”
The APC spokesman urged the public to beware of alleged misinformation tactics by Accord Party members and supporters, adding that consuming false news can plunge the state into avoidable crises.
He also called on the police to promptly intervene and sanction individuals responsible for publishing falsehoods on social media.
Mr Olabisi stated, “A keen watcher of the development would agree with the observation and conclusion that the publication of the false election results by the Accord Party members and supporters was a prearranged and co-ordinated exercise by the handlers of the Accord Party in the state to cause confusion.”
The APC wanted Governor Ademola Adeleke to be held responsible for any post-election crisis. The party said its findings showed that disgruntled Accord Party politicians illegally used AI to cause a political crisis in Osun.
Accord Party has been contacted for comments.
“We are enjoining our members and supporters in the state and beyond to continue to go about their businesses in peace and refuse to be distracted by the illegal activities of the political bandits who are hell-bent on plunging the state into avoidable political crisis for selfish reasons,” it stated.
