The Nigeria Immigration Service has warned officers to stay vigilant and arrest any member of a newly established sect, ACHAD Life Mission International.

According to an NIS circular, there is credible intelligence that ACHAD members are allegedly linked to human trafficking and child separation activities.

CIS A.A. Aridegbe, principal staff officer to the comptroller general, signed the circular shared with all Nigerian borders to put officers on alert.

The sect’s headquarters is in Kaduna, and its operations are spearheaded by an individual identified as Yokana, who is based in Jos.

“It further notes that the sect neither believes in Islam nor Christianity but preaches the restoration of the African tradition and support to humanity,” stated the circular issued on Wednesday.

NIS added, “The intelligence further reveals that the sect has been canvassing for members both within and outside Nigeria and is possibly involved in human trafficking and child separation.”

Boko Haram sect emerged in 2002 but began terrorising Nigerians in 2009, maiming and killing civilians in bomb attacks in an attempt to Islamise the West African nation. The new ACHAD sect linked to human trafficking has stirred worries among citizens.
