Actor Lalude curses APC members for using, dumping thespians after Oluomo mobilised them for Tinubu’s campaign

Lalude, known for playing the role of a herbalist, believed funds were disbursed by the APC for their roles in the election, but had been siphoned by some individuals.

Nollywood actor Fatai ‘Lalude’ Odua has lamented that he and other industry colleagues were used and neglected after campaigning for President Bola Tinubu and Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in 2023, cursing everyone involved in diverting funds meant to pay them.

“We campaigned for Tinubu; we campaigned for Sanwo-Olu. Until this very moment, we have not been paid a dime. Is that good?” Lalude said during a talk show, “Behind the Fame,” published on YouTube on Saturday.

Lalude, popularly known for playing the role of a herbalist in Yoruba movies, believed funds were disbursed by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for their roles during the election, but had been siphoned by some individuals.

The actor cursed those he believed held their money, saying, “All those behind our not being paid after working for one month and three weeks for Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu, they will never prosper or succeed in their lives till death.”

Lalude actor accused popular APC loyalist MC Oluomo of mobilising them to campaign for Messrs Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu with empty promises he never kept.

“It was MC Oluomo who invited us. He promised Alapini and me that whatever we demanded, he would give us. We did. But to date, we haven’t got a kobo. That debt they owe us for our work will not be forgiven. Curse will kill robbers,” Lalude said.

Lalude’s outburst comes as another among Yoruba Nollywood actors who have accused Mr Tinubu of abandoning them after using them for his presidential campaign.

Ebun Oloyede, better known as Olaiya Igwe, started the trend. The actor, who was criticised for stripping at the beachside to pray for Mr Tinubu’s victory, appealed to Nigerians to desist from cursing him over the current hardship occasioned by the president’s economic policies.

Recently, on the same show, Ganiu “Alapibi Osa” Nofiu, another popular Yoruba Nollywood actor, expressed disappointment in Mr Tinubu’s neglect of thespians who vigorously campaigned for his election in 2023.

“We were over 100. We campaigned with all joy with the hope that our messiah had come because we love Tinubu, and he did well for the actors. We campaigned for two months,” Alapini Osa said, lamenting that they kept getting curses from Nigerians for supporting Mr Tinubu.

Similarly, Bukky Raji, also known as Aminatu Papapa, expressed regret for campaigning for Mr Bola Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election and apologised to Nigerians for doing so.
