Adamawa ex-CJ Nathan Musa, 3 others bag traditional titles

The Adamawa Lamido of Adamawa, Barkindo Mustapha, has conferred traditional titles on four illustrious citizens of the state to enable them to contribute their quota in moving the emirate forward.
Mr Mustapha, who presided over the ceremony at his palace in con Saturday, called on the newly-turbaned title holders to fear God in their areas of jurisdiction.
He said Abdulkadir Aminu-Mbamba was turbaned with the popular title of Walin Adamawa, a senior counselor, and kingmaker in the council, while his biological son, Abdul Aziz Mbamba, was turbaned as Hurumin Adamawa.
Other title holders were Retired Justice Nathan Musa, the past immediate chief judge of Adamawa state, who was turbaned as the Wakilin Alkalan Adamawa, and Safiyanu Iyarumded as the Wakilin Malaman Adamawa.
The royal father also charged the title holders to discharge their responsibilities with piety, fear of God, honesty, commitment, and dedication, stressing “we would account for our deeds before the creator.”
He urged them to use their new positions toward the promotion of unity, solidarity and mutual respect by upholding the tenets of traditional institutions and the heritage which the emirate stands for.
Mr Barkindo explained that their appointment as traditional title holders was on merit, considering their individual and collective contribution towards the progress and development of the ancient emirate council.
Reacting on behalf of the turbaned title holders, the Wali of Adamawa, who formerly held the title of Hurumin, Abdulkadir Mbambam, thanked the emirate council and the Lamido for finding them worthy of being turbaned.
He pledged their loyalty and commitment toward the development and progress of the traditional council, state, and the nation at large, stressing “we would continue to promote and uphold the traditions of this revered palace.”
The event was attended by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, captains of industries, oil magnets, politicians, traditional rulers, and thousands of well-wishers and family members.
