Adamawa governorship aspirant promises to sustain Fintiri’s legacy projects

A governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Mustapha Salihu, has pledged to sustain and expand ongoing development initiatives in the state if elected.
Mr Salihu, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the pledge on Wednesday in Yola while formally declaring his intention to contest governorship.
He said his administration would build on the achievements of Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, ensuring continuity in infrastructure, social services and economic development programmes.
He added, “I will consolidate on the legacies of Governor Fintiri and ensure that development efforts are not only sustained but improved for the benefit of all residents.”
The aspirant, who is the immediate North-East zonal vice chairman of the APC, emphasised the need for inclusive governance and people-oriented policies.
He assured that his leadership would prioritise transparency, accountability and effective service delivery across all sectors of the state’s economy.
Mr Salihu also expressed commitment to working with key national stakeholders, including President Bola Tinubu and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to attract federal support and investments to Adamawa State.
He added that he would justify the confidence reposed in him by party leaders, government officials and the people if given the mandate.
“I will not betray the trust of the president and the good people of Adamawa State,” he said.
In his remarks, the Speaker of the Adamawa House of Assembly, Bathiya Wesley, described Mr Salihu as a credible candidate for the party, citing his track record and contributions.
Mr Wesley called on the people of the state to support Mr Salihu in the 2027 governorship election to sustain development after Mr Fintiri’s administration.
The aspirant also visited the APC Secretariat, where he presented himself and submitted his nomination form.
