ADC candidate, NNPP supporters defect to APC in Kano

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has received more defectors ahead of the February and March general elections in Dambatta and Makoda Local Government Areas of the state.
The latest saw another scores of the ADC supporters, led by its candidate for the House of Representatives for Dambatta/Makoda federal constituency, Sani Buhari Ubanta, and an NNPP stalwart in the area, Mansur Haruna, defecting to the APC on Saturday.
They were received into the party by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, amidst resounding ovation from the large crowd of party supporters and officials.
They expressed interest in the APC as the party that would meet their expectations through good democratic governance.
Mr Ganduje urged the people of Dambatta and Makoda LGAs to vote for the APC governorship candidate, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his running mate, Murtala Garo, as the next governor and deputy governor of the state, to enable continuity in governance.
He said electing the APC flagbearers in the forthcoming governorship election in the state would enable them to continue with the laudable programmes of his administration.
He said that Messrs Gawuna and Garo had been part of the conception and implementation of the programmes of the present administration and were eminently qualified to be elected.
He described Messrs Gawuna and Garo as the best candidates for governor and deputy governor, owing to their impressive records of performance in the various public offices they had held.
He then asked the gathering to vote for APC candidates across board, to enable the people to continue to reap the dividends of democracy.
Nasiru Gawuna, APC flagbearer in the state, said he was a disciple of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, and would run an open government if elected Kano’s next governor.
Gawuna stated that from all indications, they would emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections, and urged the people of the area to massively vote for him and the other APC candidates during the polls.
Earlier, the state Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Abbas, said the mammoth crowd that received the Gawauna/Garo campaign train in the area was an indication that the APC would win all the elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.
