ADC Kebbi suspends Sadeeq for allegedly declaring himself state chairman

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kebbi chapter, has announced the suspension of Sule-Iko Sadeeq over the alleged self-proclamation as the party’s state chairman.
The suspension is contained in a statement signed by Abubakar Atiku-Musa, the state publicity secretary of the party and issued in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday.
According to the statement, the suspension takes immediate effect following recent developments within the party.
It said the decision was taken after due consultation and in accordance with the party’s constitution and directives from the National Working Committee (NWC).
“The NWC has resolved that all state chairmen should retain their positions until the completion of their tenure, which expires in May 2026,” the statement clarified.
It added that the coalition leader of the ADC was unaware of any self-announcement or unilateral assumption of office by Mr Sadeeq without due consultation or authorisation.
“The State Working Committee (SWC) of ADC, Kebbi, therefore, officially suspends Dr Sule-Iko Sadeeq from the party and warns him against participating in any party activities,” it stated.
The statement reaffirmed that Sufiyanu Bala remains the constitutional and duly recognised chairman of the ADC in the state.
It also called on security agencies to take appropriate measures to prevent Mr Sadeeq from parading himself as chairman or engaging in any party activity under that guise.
“All party members, supporters, and the general public are hereby urged to disregard any unauthorised claims or information from Dr Sadeeq that contradict the official position of the party,” the statement said.
