Adeboye dedicates July thanksgiving service for prayers on Nigeria’s economy

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has dedicated July 2025 thanksgiving service for prayers to divinely restore and improve Nigeria’s economy.
According to a statement on Saturday, the pastor disclosed this on Friday, through his special assistant on administration, Dele Balogun, at a press conference in Lagos State.
The pastor said the programme, themed ‘Divine Intervention,’ dedicated to praying for the restoration and expansion of Nigeria’s economy, will hold at the national headquarters in Ebute Metta.
Mr Adeboye said, “Nigeria, as well as other nations of the world, are going through a challenging time. However, the good news is that these challenges are surmountable by faith, if we do not entertain doubt. As citizens and stakeholders in Nigeria, we need to drop the garb of negative confessions and plug into the mystery of faith and positive reasoning, to drive positive action, towards moving Nigeria forward.”
Expressing belief that God would answer the prayers, Mr Adeboye said he, “has undertaken to lead prayers for national economic restoration and enlargement,” adding that, “Our nation needs transformation into the realm of divine opportunities.”
The proposed prayer session for the country’s economy is coming amid the hardship being experienced by citizens due to President Bola Tinubu’s removal of fuel subsidy, floating of the naira, among other economic policies.
Mr Adeboye has been criticised in the past for resorting to prayers to revive Nigeria’s economy.
