Adeleke, Oyebamiji are my juniors in politics; I’ll defeat them, ADC candidate declares
The African Democratic Congress candidate in the August 15 governorship election in Osun, Najeem Salaam, has vowed to defeat Accord Party’s Ademola Adeleke and the All Progressives Congress’ Bola Oyebamiji in a free, fair and credible election.
In an interview on Channels TV on Monday, Mr Oyebamiji claimed he was more politically experienced than his two rivals.
“Politically speaking, they (Adeleke and Oyebamiji) are my juniors in politics. Forget about the party they all belong to. We know people that can really play the game. They also know that I am their senior when it comes to the real game.
“If we have a clean, perfect and level-playing ground, there is no way they (Adeleke and Oyebamiji) can beat me. I can beat my chest to that. I am telling you, wait for Saturday, you’ll see the result of the election,” the politician stated.
Mr Salaam noted that because “people are myopic in their thinking, I have been moving around the communities and local governments to let people know my worth, that I know what I want and what I want to do in government”.
The politician’s statement came ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Osun on Saturday.
On Monday, ADC presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, during the grand finale of the party’s governorship campaign, stated, “The best of Nigerians are today in ADC. So I have come, and I am appealing to you to vote for ADC in the next governorship election. I believe you will not regret voting ADC in the coming governorship election.”
