AFCON 2023: Aba fans urge wasteful Super Eagles to be clinical against Cameroon

Some football enthusiasts in Aba, Abia, have called on the Super Eagles to be resolute against Cameroon in their round of 16 match at the ongoing 2023 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) on Saturday.
The fans, who spoke to journalists in Aba on Wednesday, said that the Eagles were wasteful in front of goal in their group matches.
David Orji, Enyimba International FC media officer, said that the match against Cameroon will be decisive but he expects nothing less than a win.
“I am optimistic that the Eagles are going to reach the final and probably lift the trophy if they continue to play as a team and according to the technical team instructions.
“As for the technical crew, they should be able to know the weaknesses and strengths of their opponents and engage the right formation for every match,” he said.
Mr Orji hailed the Eagles and their technical crew for beating Guinea-Bissau, adding that they deserved the victory.
Kingsley Ogbu said the Eagles can beat any opponent at the knockout stage if they are focused and avoid distraction.
“Though Cameroon has been tough on our flesh because of their physical nature, they are not unbeatable in this ongoing AFCON.
“My advice to the players is to play as a team and their couches should effect timely and effective changes that can change the game positively,” he said.
Coach Chijioke Ugwu called on the players to play for the love of their fatherland and not play with reservation.
Mr Ugwu urged the players to play with determination while Nigerians prayed for them.
Ikechukwu Okeiyi, a trader, expressed disappointment in the Super Eagles game against Guinea-Bissau.
“Though we won the match, the players need to up their game on Saturday while the technical crew must be on their toes,” Mr Okeiyi said.
