Afri Invoice has secured a licence from the Nigeria Revenue Service as an access point provider, strengthening its position in Nigeria’s digital tax compliance ecosystem.

The company’s founder, Mark Odenore, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, saying the accreditation would support businesses as Nigeria expands mandatory e-invoicing.

According to Mr Odenore, the licence authorises Afri Invoice to securely connect businesses to the NRS Merchant Buyer Solution platform.

He said the platform enabled the validation, digital signing and transmission of electronic invoices in line with national tax regulations.

Mr Odenore noted that the approval followed Afri Invoice’s recent licensing as an NRS Systems Integrator, giving the company dual-licence status. He described the accreditation as a major milestone and a significant step toward simplifying tax compliance for businesses nationwide.

He said, “This accreditation marks an important chapter in Afri Invoice’s journey. We have always believed regulatory compliance should be accessible, affordable and efficient for businesses of all sizes. With this approval, we are better positioned to help organisations transition seamlessly into Nigeria’s new era of digital tax administration.”

Mr Odenore explained that the NRS e-invoicing initiative was designed to improve transparency, strengthen revenue collection and promote accountability through real-time transaction reporting.

He added that Afri Invoice’s dual role would enable it to provide end-to-end support, from enterprise system integration to secure invoice transmission. According to him, the arrangement would also help businesses maintain compliance with evolving tax regulations.

Mr Odenore said e-invoicing offered benefits beyond compliance, including improved operational efficiency and reduced reliance on manual processes. He added that businesses could also gain enhanced audit readiness and greater visibility into their financial operations.

The Afri Invoice platform supports integration with Enterprise Resource Planning systems and automated compliance processes. It also provides real-time invoice validation, digital certification management and reporting tools for finance and compliance teams.

Through secure API-driven infrastructure aligned with NRS requirements and international interoperability standards, the company helps organisations automate invoicing and achieve regulatory compliance.
