African, Barcelona legends play novelty march today for WASH, girl child education

Retired footballers from various countries in Africa will today play a charity football match against former players at Barcelona Football Club of the Spanish La Liga.
Disclosing this in a statement on X, on Friday, the National Orientation Agency, said the match will hold at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja by 3.00pm.
The statement read, “The match will feature the Barça Legends, spearheaded by Ronaldinho Gaucho alongside a squad of world class stars, facing off against the African Legends, including Austin J.J Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Alex Song, Samuel Eto’o, among others.”
The NOA explained that beyond the excitement on the field, the event is targeted at supporting WASH (Water, Sanitation & Hygiene) and girl child education across Africa.
“Football loving Nigerians can expect live entertainment from top Nigerian music stars, celebrity appearances, and various side attractions, making it more than just a game; it’s a complete sporting experience,” the agency added.
