African Games: NVBF president commends beach volleyball players for winning bronze

The president of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Musa Nimrod, has commended the Nigeria women’s team for winning bronze medal in the beach volleyball event of the ongoing African Games in Ghana.
Nigeria defeated their Rwandan counterparts 2-0 (22-20, 21-12) in the women’s third-place match played at the Labome Beach resort on Thursday.
Nimrod told journalists on Friday that the girls gave a good fight in their third-place match.
“These are young players who played their games with Olympians; I salute their courage. They made the country proud by winning a medal,” he said.
The president said the federation’s next target is to pick a ticket for Paris 2024 Olympics.
“We have a team B that will represent the country in the Olympics continental qualifiers in Casablanca, Morocco.
“They have been in camp for some time now, and they are doing well in their training.
“Our main target is to pick a ticket for Paris 2024, and I believe that they will also make us proud,” he said.
The 13th African Games which started on March 8 is expected to end on March 23.
