AFRIMA to host Africa music business summit in Lagos

Stakeholders across Africa and the global music ecosystem will converge in Lagos for the Africa Music Business Summit, a flagship event of the 9th AFRIMA.
Michael Osunnuyi, AFRIMA’s PR and media relations manager, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday in Lagos.
The summit will hold on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at the Eko Convention Centre, Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
The summit will bring together artistes, executives, investors, policymakers and media professionals to grow Africa’s expanding music industry.
The theme, ‘Connect, Build, Own: Monetising Africa’s Music Revolution,’ highlights AFRIMA’s focus on ownership, infrastructure development, financing and a strong continental value chain.
Award-winning broadcaster, Mr Larry Madowo, will host the event, alongside television host and actor, Ms Mojibade Sosanya, as co-host.
Panel sessions will be moderated by Landry Gnamba of Côte d’Ivoire, Nde Ndifonka of Cameroon and Ms Victoria Nkong of Nigeria.
The keynote address will be delivered by the Swedish Ambassador to Nigeria, Anna Westerholm.
Confirmed speakers include Sipho Dlamini of Universal Music South Africa, Karima Damir of Universal Music MENA and Ghanaian executive, Francis Doku.
Others are Moroccan publisher Mustapha Ettouil, Sweden-based executive Georg Heritlitz, Storm Records founder Olisa Adibua and producer ID Cabasa.
Early sessions will examine creative economy infrastructure, focusing on policies, systems and platforms needed to turn musical talent into sustainable income.
Another discussion will address ownership, rights protection, branding and monetisation strategies across Africa’s music value chain.
Sessions will also explore global stardom, media partnerships and financing models to scale Africa’s music ecosystem sustainably.
