The Nigerian Police has summoned Assistant Inspector General of Police Idowu Owohunwa, Deputy Commissioner of Police Simon Lough and other senior police officers before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC), Peoples Gazette has learnt.

A police source told The Gazette that the order issued for the appearance of Messrs Owohunwa, Lough and other senior officers is related to the ongoing investigation into age falsification allegations against them.

In a memo sent by the force secretary’s office to the officers on Friday and seen by The Gazette, police commissioners Adepoju Olugbena Adewole, Aina Emmanuel, and Salami Wakili are to appear before a disciplinary panel at the force headquarters in Abuja from Monday to Wednesday next week.

Assistant Inspector General of Police Benneth Igweh and Messrs Owohunwa and Lough were also ordered to appear before the disciplinary panel.

The memo also directed the officers to appear at the panel in their standard daily dress code and to treat the directive with great importance.
