AGROMEQA Expo 2026 will promote mechanisation, exports: ACCI

The Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry says Agricultural Mechanisation for Export-Quality Products in Africa will promote agriculture and strengthen export-quality production across the agribusiness value chain.
The ACCI president, Emeka Obegolu, disclosed this at a news conference organised by the chamber ahead of the AGROMEQA Expo 2026, on Tuesday in Abuja. The AGROMEQA Expo 2026 is scheduled for June 10 and 11.
He said the expo would attract sustainable investment and support national priorities in food security, economic diversification, and export-led growth.
According to him, the expo is organised by the ACCI, Agricultural Trade Group, and JMT Plus Farms and Agro-Allied to reposition agriculture for productivity, value addition and global export competitiveness.
“The Expo will bring together a distinguished mix of stakeholders, including policymakers and government representatives, agribusiness investors and industry leaders, agricultural machinery manufacturers and technology providers, among others. It will also promote investment partnerships and technology transfer, while Vice President Kashim Shettima is expected to declare the Expo open,” he said.
Mr Obegolu said the two-day expo would feature exhibitions of advanced agricultural technologies, including mechanised equipment, precision farming tools, irrigation systems, agro-processing innovations, and climate-smart solutions.
He added that the programme would feature plenary sessions, technical discussions, workshops and business engagements to promote partnerships and technology transfer.
Mr Obegolu said the event would serve as an investment marketplace linking producers, agritech firms, and investors in mechanisation, processing, logistics, and exports.
Mr Obegolu said that a school’s agro exhibition and competition would also feature to encourage young innovators, adding that it would drive modernisation, create jobs and strengthen rural economies. He expressed confidence that the expo would also attract investment, enhance technology transfer and support sectoral transformation.
ACCI’s director-general, Agabaidu Jideani, urged all the relevant stakeholders, ministries, departments, and agencies and the private sector to actively participate to boost productivity.
Mr Jideani said the participation would leverage the expo to explore innovative solutions, build strategic partnerships, and contribute to the growth and transformation of the nation’s agricultural industry.
