Aiyedatiwa picks former national assembly deputy clerk as lieutenant

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has picked Olayide Owolabi Adelami to be his deputy governor, Peoples Gazette can report.
Mr Adelami, who hails from Owo, was a former deputy clerk at the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018.
He was also a former governorship aspirant.
Mr Adelami hails from the same hometown as the deceased Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Ondo governor’s chief press secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed Mr Adelami’s nomination to The Gazette on Wednesday afternoon.
“His (Adelami) nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today,” Mr Adeniyan said in a chat.
Mr Adelami’s nomination is coming a few hours after Governor Aiyedatiwa dissolved the State Executive Council members and sacked all aides to the former governor Akeredolu.
The nomination of Mr Adelami followed agitation for Mr Aiyedatiwa to appoint a deputy governor following his emergence as the governor.
