Akume reaffirms support for Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has reemphasised the need to support programmes under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He made this call in Abuja while being decorated as grand patron of the Nationwide Tinubu Connect Associates (NTCA), a pro-Tinubu movement.
Mr Akume, a former governor of Benue, said Mr Tinubu had great ideas for the country, particularly in security, the economy, agriculture, and human capital development.
According to the SGF, these ideas can only be achieved if all stakeholders and Nigerians support the government’s programmes and policies.
He pledged to continue working hard to support the president in achieving his many laudable initiatives for the country.
“Let me thank you for considering me for this high honour, in recognition of the little things we have done since Mr President was elected about two years ago.
“Mr President has big ideas and plans for Nigeria in all areas, including security, the economy, agriculture, and human capital development.
“Ours is to continue supporting his policies and programmes to ensure they succeed, bringing joy to all Nigerians.
“We will work hard to achieve his many laudable programmes for our dear country.
“We appreciate your efforts in sharing the success stories of this administration with the world,” he said.
Earlier, the national coordinator and president of NTCA, Henry Nwabueze, praised Mr Akume for his service to Nigeria and his support for Mr Tinubu’s administration.
He said Mr Akume was the best choice for grand patron and the first recipient of the Star Associate of President Tinubu award.
According to him, the award recognises those whose efforts promote the president’s vision for a better Nigeria.
He described Mr Akume as a symbol of the administration’s commitment to competence, maturity, discipline, and hard work in governance.
Mr Nwabueze commended the SGF for accepting both honours and revealed that the movement would intensify its advocacy for Tinubu’s efforts to reposition Nigeria.
“Let me express the appreciation of NTCA members, both at home and abroad, who unanimously agreed to honour the SGF.
“For several years, even before some of us were born, Akume has served this nation in various capacities.
“For over fifty years, he has upheld the flag of service and leadership, producing men and women of repute and honour.
“His place in our nation’s history remains one of well-deserved honour and perpetual recognition.
“On behalf of NTCA and in the name of the Most High God, I decorate you as Grand Patron and Star Associate of President Bola Tinubu,” he said.
