Aliyu Bature becomes NSCDC commandant for Niger state

A new Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Aliyu Bature, has been redeployed to Niger Command.
The spokesperson of the state command, Nasir Abdullahi, stated this in a statement made available to journalists in Minna on Friday.
Mr Abdullahi said that the handing over ceremony took place on February 9, at the state command headquarters of the corps.
He said that commander Aliyu Bature succeeded commander Haruna Bala Zurmi, now redeployed to Kano state command of the corps.
According to the spokesperson, Mr Bature reiterated his preparedness to ensure crime-free Niger state in his remark at the handing over ceremony.
“Bature warned men of questionable characters in the state, particularly, cattle rustling, armed banditry, kidnapping and vandals of critical national facilities to relocate from the state or face the full wrath of the law.
“He also told officers and men of the command to brace up to their responsibilities in the discharge of their duties and be committed.
“Warning that his leadership in the command will not accept any act of absenteeism, disrespect and violation of human rights.
“He assured that his administration will continue to partner with other security agencies in the state, toward ensuring the security of lives and property of the people of the state.
“He appealed to the residents of state to compliment the efforts of the command by coming forward with reliable information that could aid the command apprehend and prosecute criminal elements,” the spokesperson said.
