Troops of Operation Hadin Kai say they killed a suspected Boko Haram terrorist and recovered ammunition, following an intelligence-led operation against Boko Haram terrorists in the Lamusuri general area, Gujba local council of Yobe.

In a statement on Tuesday, Mohammed Goni, the acting spokesman for the operation, said troops, along with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force, carried out the operation at about 11:00 a.m.

He stated that during the operation, troops sighted a group of Boko Haram terrorists moving along the identified route and engaged them.

“A firefight ensued, during which one terrorist was neutralised, while others fled the area with suspected gunshot wounds,” Mr Goni said.

He added that following the engagement, troops conducted an operation of the area and recovered one AK-47 rifle, 3 magazines, 90 rounds of 7.62mm Special ammunition and one body pouch.
