Alleged drug trafficker Abba Kyari seeks bail

Disgraced police officer Abba Kyari and his co-defendant, ACP Sunday Ubia, have asked the Abuja Division of the Federal High Court to admit them to bail.
Messrs Kyari and Ubia, through their lawyer, Mahmud Magaji, told Justice Emeka Nwite, while arguing the bail application that the offences the duo were charged are bailable, pointing out that the constitution gave the court the discretionary power to do so.
However, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA)’s counsel, Joseph Sunday, a Prosecution and Legal Services director, opposed the bail application.
The cops’ counsel also urged the court to grant their clients bail.
The natter was ongoing at the time of filing the report.
