“Adenike and I met nearly three years ago on my first trip to Nigeria.’’

United States-based travel content creator and tourist, Chris Joondeph, popularly known as Chris Authentic, has announced his engagement to his girlfriend and Nigerian tour guide, Adenike Daramola.

Popular for his passion in documenting travel experiences, food and culture associated with his destination countries, Mr Joondeph announced his engagement on his Instagram page on April 21

The love story between Joondeph and Adenike began some years ago as narrated by the former.

He wrote, “Adenike and I met nearly three years ago on my first trip to Nigeria. She was my couchsurfing host and showed me around Abeokuta and Lagos. It’s crazy to believe that three years later I’d be here in Amsterdam popping the question.’’

Speaking about their engagement, he said their shared love for travel had been a cornerstone of their relationship, taking them on adventures across “Africa and Europe, and to Lebanon and Mexico.”

He, however, revealed that they were facing  the challenge of navigating the US spousal visa process which would take two years when applying from Nigeria as they planned to settle in Atlanta.

Mr Joondeph is famous for documenting travel contents celebrating locals and eating street foods in places he visits.

During some of his visits to the southern and northern parts of Nigeria, he ate local street foods and concluded that Nigeria had some of the most “extraordinary culinary diversity in the world.”

On a mission to visit every country in the world, he has so far visited 162 out of 197 countries.
