Anambra South APGA donates N100 million to support Gov Soludo’s re-election

Mr Soludo said his administration’s achievements over the past three years have justified his bid for a second term.

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) stakeholders, Anambra South Senatorial District, have donated the sum of N100 million to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election in the November 8 governorship poll.

The donation was presented by the convener, Jonathan Uzoigwe, during an endorsement rally organised by party faithful from the district on Monday.

Mr Uzoigwe said the rally was to show solidarity and support for Mr Soludo’s re-election campaign, as well as to prepare for the Anambra South Senatorial bye-election scheduled for August 16.

He said, “Governor Soludo deserves a second term for his remarkable performance, especially the numerous developmental projects in Anambra South.

“We must also rally behind Chief Emma Nwachukwu, the APGA candidate in the August 16 Senate bye-election for Anambra South.

“This will enable Nwachukwu to join the governor in developing our senatorial district. Therefore, APGA must secure victory on all fronts.”

Also speaking, Sly Ezeokenwa, the national chairman of APGA, said that the party has never produced a senator from the Anambra South Senatorial District.

“We are appealing to the electorate to break this jinx by voting massively for Chief Nwachukwu on August 16,” he said.

Responding, Mr Soludo urged the electorate to vote massively for APGA candidate Mr Nwachukwu during the bye-election.

“Chief Emma Nwachukwu will go to the Senate within the next two weeks. Vote for him to go to the National Assembly.

“APGA needs synergy between the senator and the state government to drive the desired transformation in Anambra. Our administration’s achievements over the past three years have justified our bid for a second term.

“Let all APGA faithful go to their wards and mobilise the electorate to vote massively for APGA in the Aug. 16 bye-election and Nov. 8 governorship election,” he said.

Speaking on insecurity, Mr Soludo called on armed groups hiding in the forests to seize the opportunity presented by the state’s amnesty programme.

“This is a renewed call for peace; our administration is offering amnesty to armed groups hiding in the forests.

“They should surrender and embrace rehabilitation or face the full weight of the law,” he said.
