Anambra to build 30 extra public schools

The Anambra State Government is to build additional 30 public schools across the state to boost education, the state Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefore, has said.
Mr Mefor said in a statement to journalists on Thursday in Awka that the decision was part of the 22nd Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) meeting held on Wednesday.
He said that the council agreed to build additional 30 new schools after receiving report of some communities lacking public primary and secondary schools.
According to him, this will deepen the impact of the education programmes of the `Solution government’ and ensure that every community in the state benefits from the Prof. Charles Soludo-led administration’s free education policy.
The commissioner said that the council also reviewed the November 8 governorship election in which Mr Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), was re-elected and commended the residents for their decisions.
Mr Mefore said that Mr Soludo was re-elected by an extraordinary 73 per cent winning in the 21 local government areas.
He said the council noted that Mr Soludo’s victory proved the hypothesis that electoral success results from providing value and development to a people.
He disclosed that the members of the council, committed to rededicate themselves to duty and to finish strong, expressed gratitude to Anambra State residents for their faith in Soludo’s administration for their excellent conduct before, during and after the election.
The commissioner said that the council adopted the 2026 to2028 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF), which paved the way for the 2026 Annual Budget to be presented to the Anambra State House of Assembly to guarantee that the 2026 Appropriations Bill is assented to by December 31, 2025, at the latest.
