#AnambraDecides2025: APC wins Peter Obi’s polling unit

Nicholas Ukachukwu, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, defeated the Labour Party’s George Moghalu in Peter Obi’s polling unit in Saturday’s governorship election.
Mr Obi, the presidential candidate for LP in 2023, failed to win Polling Unit 019, Agulu Ward 11, Anaocha Local Government Area, for his anointed candidate.
Mr Ukachukwu of the APC polled 73 votes, defeating Mr Moghalu of the Labour Party, who polled 57 votes in the polling unit. Incumbent Governor Chukwuma Soludo polled 38 votes in the polling unit.
Mr Obi, a former Anambra governor, cast his vote at the polling unit on Saturday, lamenting vote buying.
“Unfortunately, those who are the victims of bad governance seem to be fuelling it,” Mr Obi told journalists after voting. “What you see is vote buying to the tune of N20,000, N30,000, and N50,000.”
