Bandits reportedly attacked a teenager, Charles Emmanuel, from Fass axis, between Tashek and Jol villages in Plateau on Tuesday evening.

On Wednesday bandits killed an 18-year-old vigilante in Divine Davou, in Rachas village, Heipang district of Barkin Ladi area of the state.

Rwang Tengwong, spokesperson for the Berom Youth Moulders-Association, confirmed the incident to Peoples Gazette, saying the victim was attacked on Tuesday before being rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital.

“Charles sustained injuries during the attack and was rushed to Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where he later died,” he said.

Mr Tengwong urged security agencies to urgently investigate the attack, identify and apprehend those responsible, and strengthen security along roads leading to vulnerable communities in Plateau State to prevent further killings.

The group also called on the state government and relevant security authorities to take decisive measures to protect lives, ensure justice for the deceased and restore confidence among residents living under persistent security threats.

The police spokesman, Alfred Alabo, did not immediately respond to a request for command.

The Gazette reported that bandits killed two vigilantes and injured others in Tudun-Mazat village, of Barkin Ladi area.

Similarly, on July 9, bandits killed eight vigilantes in Kiara community of Kanam council of the state with several others missing after the attack.
