Anyaoku hails Soludo as governor marks two years in office

Former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku, has applauded the uncommon combination ability of Governor Charles Soludo.

He said that Mr Soludo’s ability in achieving extraordinary progress in governance of the state in tangible areas like security, job creation is commendable.

Mr Anyaoku made the commendation during the celebration  of Soludo’s two years in office in Awka on Sunday.

He said that the transformative leadership style of Soludo had improved the socio-economic and infrastructural development of the state.

Mr Anyaoku said that his style had improved security architecture, human capital development, social agenda and reordering of governance in Anambra.

He described Mr Soludo as a “man of sound intellectual capacity, man of many character, humility” as he related richly with the lives of the street.

He said, “I urge all residents to be cooperative so as to enjoy all the bounties of the leadership of a visionary leader like Soludo.’’

A former Deputy Governor of the state, Emeka Sibeudu, said that Mr Soludo had surpassed his predecessors in a period of two years.

According to Mr Sibeudu, Mr Soludo has touched rural areas in road construction, opening up economic exchanges in agricultural produce and human development.

He also showcased the importance of education and provided the citizens with free education to encourage both the children of the poor and the wealthy to enjoy western education.

Mr Sibeudu, who was the deputy to former governor Peter Obi, urged the people of the state to support Mr Soludo’s administration for more transformation that would positively touch their lives.

A businessman, Christian Beluchukwu, said that in two years Mr Soludo had scored above pass mark and encouraged him not to relent.

Mr Beluchukwu, however, urged the governor to address the areas threatened by erosion in the state.

Director, Pharmaceutical Unit, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Teaching Hospital, Nnewi, Ukpo Ada Okafor, said the two years of Mr Soludo in office was a progressing project.

Mr Okafor said that the health sector needed more attention in provision of basic hospital working equipment and human structures to enhance quality healthcare.

She said that many Anambra rural dwellers were yet to enjoy quality health medicare due to non availability of principles to make it possible.

A retired teacher, Patricia Anagor, said the government in two years had tried but there is room for more development in all sectors.

Mrs Anagor appealed to the state government to give incentive to teachers in rural areas for more productive output.

She said, “Let there be access to primary health centres, transport incentives and home accommodations for teachers in rural areas for optimal education success.’’
