APC accuses Masari’s former SSG of betrayal after defection

All Progressive Congress stalwart in Katsina, Shafi’u Abd-Duwab, says the defection of the former secretary to the state government (SSG), Mustapha Inuwa, to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is a betrayal.
He stated, “Therefore, he is not supposed to betray the party and Masari after all the favour they have done to him and others. We are not happy about his defection.”
Mr Abdu-Duwab, APC welfare secretary in Katsina, said this while briefing journalists on Sunday in Katsina.
“But I believe his decision will not reduce APC’s fortunes. I have the hope and confidence that we are going to win elections,” the APC official added.
Mr Inuwa, who lost his bid to secure the APC governorship ticket, announced his defection on Sunday while addressing his supporters.
Mr Abdu-Duwab explained that Mr Inuwa’s decision to dump APC indicated that he did not believe in fate.
“I think his earlier prayers and statement to accept defeat were not deeply from his heart. He is among the people that Governor Bello Masari had given the opportunities that no one was given. He should have faith that no matter how desperate he is to become the governor, if God does not allow it, no one can make it possible,” the APC stalwart stressed.
