APC begins sales of forms for LG elections in Borno
Ahead of the January 2024 local government election in Borno, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state has commenced sales of Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms for chairmanship and councillorship elections.
According to a statement by APC spokesman in Borno Makinta Zarami, the sales, which commenced on September 20, would end on September 28.
“Interested party members are advised to obtain the form within the stipulated time as there will be no room for an extension,” the statement said.
The Borno State Independent Electoral Commission (BOSIEC) had on August 2 released a timetable for the council election.
According to the election timetable by BOSIEC, political parties are to submit the list of nominated candidates by October 16 for screening and final display of cleared candidates on November 19.
The election campaign by parties is to commence from November 28 to January 18, 2024, and the election is scheduled for January 20.
